It's Day 3 in WeNdYs WiNtEr WoNdErLaNd !
Today I share with you one of my favorite Christmas Traditions. This is probably the one thing I look forward the most all year!
C H R I S T M A S P U Z Z L E S !!
This is something that probably came down from my Grandmother Phyllis as I remember her always with a puzzle on her table when, as a child, I would go over to see her. She just had her 90th birthday last month. Anyways...did I mention how much I love my Christmas Puzzles?
Here is my favorite Christmas Puzzle. I have to do this one first every year. Then I can try a new one out!
Here is a closer look at the crazy and intricate picture! I just love how busy everyone is in Santa's Workshop!
Oh I love each little elf and know them each apart from one another! Lol!
Here is a look at a new puzzle I just bought yesterday when I was in Los Angeles and "trapped" in the bookstore. Ha! I had to be drug out of the shop with my new puzzle and new Christmas book. I fell in love with this one because it had scalloped edges and so much pink in it, and you know that is my favorite color. Can't wait to start this puzzle!
Speaking of PINK! How did you like the darling pink tree that my daughter Claire decorated with Claires.com store jewelry? She even swagged the bottom with a Claires leopard scarf? She did this and used it in a Christmas video she taped for their Secret Santa Circle promotion, while she was the guest style blogger for the month of November. Cute huh?!
OK back to PUZZLES. If you were thinking of a great new tradition to start, that will bring people together, you might want to try a puzzle or two. If you had a group over for your holiday weekend you could have a couple going on and maybe even have a contest to see who could get theirs together first. I also had a great thought that I might try. Taking one of my favorite family Christmas pictures and having it made into a puzzle.
When I finish this newest puzzle I will have to post a picture of it on my Wendys Hat facebook page for all of you watching!
And if you find yourself up late at night this Christmas season, think of me, probably working on my puzzle! Sure wish my late night owl friends could sneek over and join me! Would you?
I just don't know how your manage this puzzles hobby into all the christmasbusiness. I'm happy to just have dinner ready and not to gave to do things during the holidays. Your blog also reminded me about the great puzzle you sent me a while ago. Now's the right season to make a start. Noah already asked me a couple of times. I'm just wondering about where to leave it in between because we certainly won't finish that one at once. Once I've find a good spot, there's nothing stopping us.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear about this hobby of yours. Fits you like a glove, you christmas-o-holic. A very healthy addiction!
Never a dull moment Monique! I'm sure that Noah would love to do his puzzle! I wish I was there to do it with him!
ReplyDeleteI love your photography, Wendy! It really inspires me. We love puzzles, too...but never tried a Christmas puzzle! Good idea
ReplyDeleteWell thank you very much Jill! I have so much to learn and get frustrated because usually I can't get the shot to come out like I want on my little limited camera. Sure wish you lived near me and I could lend you one of my puzzles ( or better yet you could come over and help me with mine)!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago I started a tradition with the grandkids doing puzzles over the Christmas Holidays. They amaze me how good they are at the really difficult ones that get me frusrated. I always have one on so when they visit we can have some bonding moments. It's been a lot of fun through the years. I love the Christmas one you have in this blog. You never cease to amaze me. (My cute little neighbor girl from long long ago.) Keep on keepin!
ReplyDeleteWell thank you very much dear Kay, for those kind words! That means a lot coming from you! Your puzzle tradition sounds perfect!! Lucky grandchildren!
ReplyDeleteWendy dear... I am finally - FINALLY! - catching up on your blog! All of December I would glance at your magnificent Christmas Countdown and try to catch at least a few photos... it all looked so wonderful and festive and YOU! You are one AMAZING girl Wendy! And with all you do - the decorating, the baking, the projects, your blogging - Christmas puzzles too??? You just never cease to AMAZE me :) What a fantastic tradition! I never even knew there WERE Christmas puzzles! LOL! Fun, fun, fun - just like YOU :)
