Wendys Witch Hat - Halloween Breakfast {Entertaining}

The secret to a great Halloween is starting the day off right! It's the best thing you can do for yourself!  Even the simplest of meals will be extraordinary with a well set table.  It's really not that hard to do. 

 A peek at my breakfast table!  I'm sure you already guessed I made Wendy's Perfect Pumpkin Pancakes again!  Along with juice and bacon and a special Halloween omelet for Mr. Hat, who loves them!

 When setting a table, layering can add so much.  I used an orange place mat topped with a checked napkin, then topped with a cream doily then further layered with two plates.  I used a Spring green floral plate first then topped that with a novelty Halloween plate that I had.  The silverware is tied to a ghost napkin by a green ribbon.  I mixed up the ghost and checked napkin up at each setting.  I found all of these things in my cupboards and put things together in new ways.  I have collected dishes for years and never pay much at all for them.  Seriously most of them range from $1.00 to $5.00 per plate.  I went to many stores and found cute novelty napkins for $1.00 a bunch so even if you don't have cloth ones you can reproduce this look easily.

Another fun thing for a great table is something out of the ordinary!  Everyone can serve milk and o.j. at breakfast but it's not every morning that you get Jack-o-lantern Juice or Liquid Boo!  I always serve drinks at fun special meals in these crystal glasses.  I purchased them many years ago.  They are very inexpensive ones but make the kids feel special!

Liquid Boo is just milk with a ghost in it!  I took a wooden skewer and cut it to size and put a marshmallow on it.  I then took a tiny tube of black ready made liquid frosting from the grocery and put a face on it.  I was going to use regular mini marshmallows but I got lucky and found these shaped ones.  Either would be great!
 

Then I took a tiny tangerine and cut part of the back off and cleaned it out then carved a face on it.  I took another tangerine and cut it in half and wiped it with one drop of food coloring and placed it back in the carved one.  (The red coloring helped bring more contrast to show off that cute cut out face.)  Next cut a wooden skewer to size and place through the whole thing.  Great way to get your children to want to drink their milk and juice! 

I know it's breakfast but candy corn is a must on any Halloween table!

A top view of the table.  You can't go wrong with pumpkins when decorating for Halloween.  They can also stick around for Fall and Thanksgiving decorating. Throw in a few candles and you are good to go!

A focal point piece on the table adds to the drama.  For Halloween the drama is more whimsical with my vintage ornament tree!  I've collected the ornaments on this tree for years.  Makes me smile!

So there you have it!  A glimpse at my Halloween Breakfast Table!  I've noted what I tried new this year and will add to my Halloween traditions for years to come.  I've made a list of things I want to try next year that are new to me.  I've also decided what I love and can't live without on Halloween and that is my friends and family to share it with!
