Christmas Hats {tradition}

    Welcome back to Day 8 in WeNdYs WiNtEr WoNdErLaNd !!

                               Today, for your viewing pleasure, a little whimsy!

                              Christmas Hats

                                   I have a bag of Christmas hats
                                        that always bring such cheer.

                                   Put on one of these funny things
                                        for instant Christmas through the year!

                                   There is...

                                   One that jingles,
                                        and one that has lights.
                                   One that is fuzzy,
                                        and one that is bright.
                                   Another with antlers,
                                        or perhaps a candy cane.
                                   My favorite is not pictured,
                                        and my son thinks they're all lame!

                                   Whether for school or concert,
                                        or just your shopping delight!

                                   In my bag you go
                                        to find one that's "just right"!

                                   You might look kind of silly,
                                         but I mean really...
                                   It's all just for FUN!!
                                   {and you will always have a great hair day}

Ok so obviously being a "hat lady" it would be fitting for me to have a collection of Christmas hats.  My children have enjoyed wearing them to school parties and other fun places during this holiday time.  I can't help myself but to wear a festive Santa hat when I do some elfish shopping {at least once during this time of year}!  So now I share with you some old pics I dug out showing some Christmas hat fun!

The girls one year while decorating the Kitchen Gingerbread tree!  I came in to find Chelsea with a Christmas hat on and the tree skirt around her like a cape, while she tried to eat Claire's giant taco hat!

A rare snowfall one year and even the snowman needs a Christmas hat!

Children bundled up like snowmen themselves one year!

Cousins all wearing their Santa Hats in NYC at a Christmas show!

Singing in school at a Christmas party is more fun wearing a festive tree hat!

Or exchanging Christmas gifts between sisters just for fun {well really for a gift exchange commercial photo shoot}!

Or the "Little Cindy Lou Who" hat!

And now a shocker!  A rare glimpse of Mr. C from a Christmas past setting up a racetrack on Christmas morning in Christopher's room!  The kids gave him that Mickey Mouse Santa hat and he wore it all day!

So there you have it!  Another tradition!  I promised whimsy and I delivered!  If you think that wearing a festive Christmas hat will not make a difference in your spirits then I beg to differ!  I promise you can't wear one without a smile!  Try something new this year!  What is the funniest Christmas hat you have ever seen? {I've seen some scary ones that weren't supposed to be funny but they were!  Eek!}

  1. Those hats look like a ball this time of year, Wendy. I'm a hat girl, too. Great you got snow one year!

  2. Thank you Jill! My son wishes for snow every year (sad for him we live in the desert).

  3. Well, I already posted on FB but this fun blog calls for a posting here too. You seem to make a tradition of everything, haha, even from silly ones. Indeed, hats can be fun, but the kids onlybreally get to appreciate them wehrn they're grown up themselves. My son would not want to wear hats like this in his age. But I know he will love it as a grown-up, with his own kids. I love to wear a traditional santahat in the house, a lit one. I still need to get hom out of the storage. Our tree was only set up yesterday.
    I loved your pic of mr. C building with his son, a rare one indeed. Nice pants, truely in christmas spirit (Haha). And the hat on the first pic on top, is my personal favorite from your collection.
    Are yoy gonna show us your christmas style pyamas collection? You must have them, I wouldn't believe it if you have none? Maybe for the kids?

  4. Thanks Monique! Well I know you would wear a Christmas hat and go out with me! I was going through a bunch of pictures last night for Chelsea {she had to bring a picture to work today of her as a baby at Christmas so they could have a guessing contest to see if everyone knew who they were} anyways... I found so many great Christmas pictures of my children through the years and in almost every one they had hats on! They were great!! Wish I would have found them before I did this post! Oh well maybe next year I will share more!

    Oh I am the ONLY one in my family that will wear pajamas {weird huh?!} and mine are PINK!! Haha!

  5. Wendy, you funny girl! I have never even THOUGHT of wearing Christmas hats (except a Santa hat occasionally)! But of course YOU ARE THE HAT LADY so it makes sense that you and your family would have adorable Christmas hats! VERY CUTE! :)
