Welcome back to Day 12 of WeNdYs WiNtEr WoNdErLaNd!
Part of my Christmas tradition continues...
We're back for the rest of the story! Thanks for joining me again! If you missed yesterday go back to Day 11 and check it out first by clicking on this link. http://wendyshat.blogspot.com/2010/12/live-nativity-part-1-christmas.html
So the scene is set and I have been inside to see the creche display. I pass by different groups singing Christmas songs and music fills the air!
I head back outside to find my seat in the bleachers for the live show and find a donkey! They have live animals as part of the show. Donkeys, horses {instead of camels}, goats and sheep!
Choirs sing for us as we all wait for the show to begin! So many people want to see this that the bleachers are
The story begins! In the land of Bethlehem.
The stage was set to make you feel like you really were witnessing the events of that night!
The narrator speaks as music accompanies the story!
Then a funny thing happens! {Mr. C thinks it was the best part of the show!} Almost as if on cue, one of the donkeys in the stable lets out a BIG "hee haw"! He did this a few more times throughout the show and it was perfect! {I guess that he is used to being with the other donkey at all times and when they take the other one away to put Mary on top, for her scene, he is not happy and "hee haws" to let everyone know!}
Joseph and Mary arrive to the story and it continues. {The other donkey notices the arrival as well!}
They find a crowded Bethlehem.
With no room at the Inn.
Until the innkeeper {I really believe it was his wife who had a hand in this}...
Shows them to the stable...
Just in time for the baby to be born!
"...And unto us a child is born..."
And the choir of angels appears as the North Star is lit!
They are all over the rooftop!
The shepherds tending their flock at night.
Come to see the child that is born.
Wise men come from the East.
To bestow gifts upon him.
Everyone bows down to this baby - The King of Kings!
The story ends. Afterward ALL are welcome to come forward and see the baby Jesus and the animals and meet everyone from the scene. This is a great thing for children to do! I remember many years with my children going up to see the baby Jesus! So there you have it. My version of the Live Nativity that I was able to see. Have you ever had the chance to see a Live nativity? If you get one you should definitely take it! For a moment you are taken back in time and can really ponder what it might have been like to be a part of that night!
For those not able to get out and participate in this I am happy to share my little story with you! Merry Christmas! Let this season of reflecting and giving continue...
Thanks for the lovely post about the nativity. My husband and I were both involved and it was a lot of work for all the actors as well as behind the scenes. It was a huge undertaking but very well worth it. Thanks for supporting us!
