Storms {Garden}

An unexpected {and much needed} rainstorm in the desert is good!

But the next morning when one runs out for a quick trip to the store and gets hit by a flashflood {which has you passing stranded people and stuck in your car for an hour and taking all day to run this little errand...} you are left wondering how good this much needed rain could be somewhere else.

I listen to the monstrous claps of thunder that seem to shake the car, as I see the bright bolts of lightning popping up through the dark and cloudy sky.  At times the wind is blowing so hard that the heavy rain is blowing sideways and you can't see in front of you {just like in the hurricanes you see on TV} which is not usual for my dry desert land.

I eventually have to wade {in ankle deep water~flip flops and all} into the store to complete my errand {which I thought would take a few minutes that had now consumed my day} and found myself starving from the experience and had a bite to eat!  Truly I wanted to make sure it was safe to go home without getting stuck again or having some crazy driver hit me in the rain!

I wake up this morning to freezing temps {in my eyes!} with a 30 degree difference from 2 days ago, and with the wind blowing in the first Winter storm of the season {much earlier than ever before} waiting for more rain tomorrow and...

I am left remembering that perfect day last week that I spent laying by the pool and sipping on a cold drink with my toes in the sun!  It's days like that which will get me through the cold days of the Winter to come!  So tell me... what type of days do you daydream about?
