The Odd Life of Timothy Green {Review & Recipe}

The Odd Life of Timothy Green Poster

One stormy night a couple, who dreamed of having their own child, buried a box full of wishes with all of the qualities that their dream child would possess.  Much to everyone's surprise a child appears but he is not quite what everyone was expecting!  Come on this touching adventure as everyone's lives are changed forever because of the Odd Life of Timothy Green. The lessons learned and memories shared will make a difference in the lives of all who cross his path.

I was lucky enough to go to an early review of this latest Disney movie and here are my thoughts.  Tough guys and Sci-fi movie lovers will probably not feel the same way I do about this movie.  It is your traditional feel-good chick-flick but I loved it!  I took my 8 year old niece with me and when asked she loved it too.  Her favorite part was when we were able to peek into the very special world that Timothy and a friend made for themselves in the woods.  Very creative.  Now we all know that a boy would not magically appear but the life lessons to be learned in this movie are very realistic I must also mention that the acting is very well done by everyone who took part.  This is a Disney movie but know that it is rated PG {IMDB says this is due to mild thematic elements} but I did not find anything in this movie that would keep my child from seeing it.  This movie is definitely one full of emotions so bring your kleenex!  For more information on this movie go to the Disney website for The Odd Life of Timothy Green.  In theaters everywhere!

Now have a sip of my latest drink
called
the
"Timothy Green"

So... because Timothy's mother was into natural gardening and the fact that I love fresh delicious clean produce myself, I am sharing some "juicing" tips and a recipe with you.  I'm calling this the "Timothy Green"!  Most "juicing" programs have their own version of the "Mean Green" healthy juice and this is a variation of that, which turns out a bit different every time we make it due to what fruit/veges are on hand each day.

RECIPE~

5 kale leaves
handful of spinach
half of a cucumber
half of a green apple
half of a peach
6 strawberries
handful of blueberries
half of a banana
and then, on any given day, we throw in something new, depending on what is available.
We usually do add a handful of ice to make it cold but you don't have to.
Next all you need to do is blend and I do that in my fabulous Vitamix!

Tips for making fresh juice-

~the typical guideline for a "green" juice is 60% leafy greens and 40% other fruits & veges
~wash fruit/veges before using them
~buy organic when possible
~don't be afraid to mix it up and add something new
~ use yogurt in your juice to give it a thicker smoothie texture
~use ice in your juice to make it into a slushiee
~for doing a juice cleanse drink approx. 4 {16-20 oz} drinks a day for 7 to 10 days
~for making a days worth of juice at once seal and refrigerate the rest of the juice
~DO make extra and share it with a friend for more FUN!

Will you be seeing this movie or is it even your type?
What would you put in the perfect drink?  I'm always looking for new tips!

Disclaimer * I was provided a free ticket to see this movie but ALL thoughts and reviews are my own!

    1. Oh Christine yes you do! Thanks. Costco has the best deals on them sometimes. Years ago my parents gave each family one as a family Christmas gift that year.
