Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign |
I did something different but fun this year for New Years. Yes I went down to my usual spots on the Las Vegas Strip, but this time with no camera! I traveled light this year and only used my Android. I ended up with some of my favorite pictures too. Las Vegas is such a colorful city and when viewing my NYE pictures I wondered, "What would all of these colorful pictures look like in black and white?" I see Las Vegas nearly everyday and have pictured it many different ways with many different views. So here are a few of my black and white views of The Las Vegas Strip.

Do you think this little town of mine looks just as colorful in black and white?
Love the city in black and white. It makes the photos look very vintage.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl. I thought so too.
DeleteLove Our little town in Black and White! Thanks for a new look rather than the bright lights :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate. It's a good change every once in a while.
DeleteAww these make me homesick! I grew up in Overton, Went to college in Las Vegas and lived for years in Boulder City. Wonderful pictures that bring out the beauty of Vegas as I remember it. <3
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment JJ. I would be homesick if I had to leave too.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! Some of them look so old-school. I love them!
ReplyDeleteSuch great shots, Wendy! My favorite is the Paris one.
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy, those are some fabulous black and white photos you took of Las Vegas!
ReplyDeleteYou are tireless, Wendy!! Love how "real" and majestic in black and white. We've got substance under the razzle dazzle!
ReplyDeleteHey Wendy I'm a 42yr Las Vegas native and its funny how you can take a modern day picture put it in black & white and make it look old instantly. The Vegas sign pic looks like its right out of the 60's! what I cant understand is if you live here why were you anywhere near the strip on New Years?? lol. I Did it once in my 20's and that was enough. Anyways love the pics
ReplyDeleteWhy, yes, yes I do! I love all of those b/w photos of Vegas. And, I have to admit, kind of happy I was not on the Strip that night. I mean, I was, but inside the hotel. Looks almost as crowded as Times Square!
ReplyDeletehow neat to see the Strip in B&W. We're so used to all the glitz and glamour but we forget to stop and look at the wonderful architecture and detail these buildings have. I love being on the strip on NYE but it's hard with my lil one. Luckily we live down the street so we can still see the fireworks from my apt. balcony!
ReplyDeleteWow what gorgeous black and white photography of Vegas. Thanks so much for your kind comments and following my blog. I love your blog and am following you too.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Danielle
Wendy, Thank you so much for such a new way of looking at Veges. I lived there for five years and miss it very much. I love the action and the wonderment that you experience on the strip, not to mention all my friends. You really did capture Vegas in a new light, and it makes me a little home sick! Love the pics!

There is a certain timelessness of black and white. I think history when I look at black and white pics. Thanks.
