Garden Party Quilt {Sewing}

Spring is in the air and it's the perfect time to share my Garden Party Quilt with you all!

Creatively hanging {from something useful and pink} you will find

This very special treat!

Using delicate floral fabric from my personal stash {mixed with pastel plaids} and

accompanied by my other prints that are as delicate as this blush colored "Palace Rose"

you really get the feel of pink lemonade {which is the perfect drink for a tea party}!  I featured a sweet dolly tea party print in large squares to tie everything together.

I used 3-dimensional "Prairie Points"

to make "Pinwheels" {and what's a garden party without pinwheels?}!

The pinwheels gave my Garden Party an added detail that really brought personality to this quilt {they are fun to touch too}!

When putting the striped pinwheel blocks together, you will notice that each of the four striped squares {that form the pinwheel} are set at a different angle.  This adds more movement to the quilt, which I find interesting.  That, along with the 3-dimensional Prairie Points, really make for a nice combination.

Machine quilted with a simple cross hatch design and

 backed with fun circles, which remind me of bubbles {and what's a tea party without bubbles?}!  I call this quilt a complete success!

Now I'm all ready to host a real Dolly Garden Tea Party underneath my Garden Party Quilt.

All that's missing is YOU {let me know and I can set a place for you}!

So tell me... have you ever been to a Dolly Garden Tea Party?  Have you ever made Prairie Points or Pinwheels?  They are rather simple and well worth it!

  2. What a beautiful quilt! It's been years since I made any quilts, and I've never tried that pattern. Now I'm thinking about taking it up again!

  4. WENDY! I absolutely *LOVE* that quilt! I've seen a LOT of quilts but never a pinwheel design made into 3-D prairie points! Or 3-D anything! You are right - it is so much more interesting, and I LOVE all the fabrics you chose, especially the sweet dolly print!
