Last week on Thursday, April 21, 2011 was the World Premiere for the Disney movie PROM. Because of work that my daughter did for a big company involved with the movie, she needed to be there and we were treated to the full VIP experience! What a perfect experience it was! What a cute movie too! It's out in theaters everywhere today.
The Premiere and Red Carpet Event was held at Disney's famous El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Here is a picture of the Red Carpet below. I took this picture across the street and upstairs. This is the crowd almost 3 hours before!
Here I am in my Red Carpet attire, waiting for the doors to open.
My daughter waiting in line to be greeted at the Red Carpet and do her little walk of fame!
Funny we had fans taking pictures of her and trying to talk to her!
Some of the Press and Paparazzi.
On the official Red Carpet! She was wearing vintage black lace with black lace Betsy Johnson heels {that tied at the ankle}. Don't you love her hand beaded necklace that was a custom designed piece? She looks "Prom Worthy" indeed!
More Paparazzi further down the carpet.
More Red Carpet pictures! It was streamed live and my other daughter, watching at home, saw us on the Red Carpet! She was tweeting us {said she noticed my hat}!!! My pictures aren't that great because we were not allowed to bring cameras. I had to use my phone.
Me rockin my Louis Vuitton shoes on the famous stars on Hollywood Boulevard!
Part of the famous handprints found across the street, in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theater!
Once the movie was over we were all whisked out back, with more Paparazzi lining the barriers, to the Prom Reception! It was held at the famous Hollywood High School! It was amazing! The whole gym was decorated in true Prom fashion! No details left undone! We actually had Prom pictures taken and put in these great metal Disney Prom frames! We were handed candy necklaces as we walked in {you will understand when you see the movie}! There were ROLO's as well {another thing you will understand after you see the movie}!
Inside the great Prom Reception we were entertained by a DJ, then followed by a band!
All of the guests were wearing Prom dresses and other Prom attire.
That could have been why the movie was even better!
We were treated to a full {wedding style} buffet of food and even more incredible dessert bar.
I loved the napkins embossed with Prom and the date on them!
Then an introduction of the main cast of characters {each with a Bio}. Fun and interesting too!
Her amazed look as a
So I give this movie my "two thumbs up" for being creative and fun and touching and real. Not corny and not trashy either. Just a good mix of real life, and that is something we need to see more of in the theaters today! The movie made you really think about how we are all the same. Loved it! {Probably more than you will because I was in a theater full of people in Prom clothes who were cheering each other on when their names popped up on the screen at the very beginning!} Fun! Good times! Thank you Disney!
Here is the link to the Official PROM Website. Check it out and watch the movie preview too. If you have a tween or teen in your home you will want to go with them, it is that good! So now I ask you..."Who are you taking to Prom"?
how fun for you and your daughter. Our youngest son used to act (as a child), it's always fun to get your 5 minutes of fame. I remember once a fan recognized him from a Nintendo commercial he was in in 1997.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had tons of fun!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! Your daughter looks like she should be in the movie!! I got a chance to see a preview last night, and thought is was really cute.

ReplyDeleteWhy thank you lovely ladies, for your sweet comments. I guess I should start practicing my autograph! haha
ReplyDeleteThis looked great, you made me part of that prompremiere too and Claire justlooked super! And how about those LV shoes?! All dressed up!
ReplyDeleteI can see you had fun. You were very very lucky!
If my son had been a bit older I could have taken him, but he's still too young to have that PROM feeling especially since we don't have that prom tradition the way you have.
Wow, thanks for taking us to your PROM/red carpet experience! What a FUN adventure! You both looked simply stunning, as usual - I would expect nothing less! It looked like Disney indeed pulled out all the stops for everyone - you're gonna have some terrific memories! So what did Claire do for the movie? She is so talented - I am dying to know!
