Snowman Table Runner {Sewing}

Who doesn't LOVE a snowman?
Especially the warm ones that can come inside and smile at you!

So today I'm sharing with you a favorite snowman of mine.
He's the perfect thing to warm up any table on a chilly Winter Day!

This snowman is similar to my October Post on How to Make a Pumpkin Table Runner.
Only a few differences between the snowmen and pumpkins ~

I had fun choosing different flannel prints for each scarf.

I chose a tiny floral print for the backing on my quilted runners.

Many years ago a friend showed me how to make these with just a paper pattern.
I have recently found out that the original pattern was made by
a company called Farmyard Creations which is now called
Sweetwater

Please contact them if you are interested in a pattern.

What's more fun than a pile of snowmen on your table?
One for you and one to give away to a friend!
So what's on your table?
This snowman is so cute he can stay around all Winter if he wants!

  7. I am so glad I know people that know how to sew crafts for holiday such as Christmas, Valentine's day, etc. The snowman runner is adorable!

My house stores 2 sewing machines and they both have dust on them.

Do you do how to craft workshops for Las Vegas locals?

    1. Wow! Thanks! I know you are a Vegas local and would help you dust off your machines anytime! Many years ago I taught classes at quilt shops and this is something on my list to do again soon.

  16. To Sandi and any others whom like this pattern,

I have found and emailed a company that I believe is the Sweetwater mentioned in the post. I haven't had a response yet (but I just emailed them!). I'm supplying the website in case it is the correct company (which I believe it is from their Facebook page mentioning both Sweetwater AND Farmyard Creations). I wasn't able to locate the pattern on thier site but as I stated, I have emailed them about it. If you want to try as well, I found them at sweetwaterscrapbook with the .com as usual. Good Luck! I LOVE this pattern!

    1. Thank you! They were not very nice with me, even sharing my pictures of their project. My blog posts and pictures have generated thousands of hits for this and the pumpkin runner. I get hundreds of emails wanting this pattern. When I made it I did not know it was even from them so I took my measurements out of my blog post, because they weren't happy with it. It is sad that they do not sell this pattern anywhere anymore and are even hard to contact. I get MANY emails a day regarding this and my pumpkin runner. I would LOVE to be able to help everyone with a link but unfortunately they don't have one for this.

    2. I love your snowman table runner! It is so cute! I ordered the pattern from Sweetwater. Thank you for posting your runner on your blog, otherwise I would have never known about their pattern!

  17. Wendy, I have to say that I think the Sweetwater Company has a lovely snowman table runner (see here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/114120776/snowman-table-runner-pattern-only ) but its really not the same as yours. For them to lay claim on yours is a little deceiving on there part. I think you should post YOUR pattern! I like it much better!!! :)

  18. I would nice if you would make and sell them...I'll be your first customer!!

  19. Thanks so much for sharing your table runner with us. I love anything snowman. I contacted the Sweetwater Company and was able to get a pattern from them. They were very nice to me and responded quickly to my inquiry. I have made 5 runners for Christmas presents this year. I'm sure they will go over well!

    1. Thank you for this news. I've had over 25,000 hits on this blog post and receive at least 10 emails a day saying that they had no luck with getting in touch with the company to find a pattern. Maybe now they are making the patterns again. Here is the etsy link that one of my readers sent me. http://www.etsy.com/listing/114120776/snowman-table-runner-pattern-only

    2. That should have read 10 emails a week not day.

  20. I do not like the etsy pattern for the snowman runner....I like how the snowmen are facing opposites. Would you consider making and selling one identical to the one you made? Please let me know. Thanks and Happy New Year! ~Gloria

  21. Hi Wendy, dropping by from Brandie's new recipe party. I love your snowman table runner was this a pattern you made yourself? or by someone else? I have a square dining table & a round kitchen table but could see making one to top the piano. Hope the New Year is finding you well!! Theresa @ DearCreatives.com

    1. Nice to meet you Theresa! Thanks. I've explained in the last paragraph of my post but I've been making these for years when a friend showed me how. After I put this post up a company called Sweetwater mailed me and asked me to take the how to pictures out because it was their original design. They no longer are in business but her daughters recently started selling this pattern again, I heard, after my post bringing them so much inquiring on it. I make my own patterns all the time and it's pretty easy to draw up these simple shapes on your own. Email me with any questions you might have. Thanks!
