Baby Hummingbird {Garden}

I've shared my Hummingbird Nest Story before
but
I am always adding a new chapter to my story each Spring.
15 years now, 2 sets of births each year, and that's just in this 1 nest!

I carefully climb on my ladder to take a peek daily.
I was trying to get a pic with my phone this year and baby thought It was feeding time.
So innocent and fragile and amazing!

Here is the a picture I shared from my Instagram on Mothers Day last week.
Patient little Mother doing her duty!

I never get tired of seeing this up-close part of Nature!
I am always amazed at the determination of the mother.
Nothing stops her from doing what she needs to and protecting her baby.

What is a favorite thing you love watching in the world around you?

  1. Wendy,
That's just too lovely and your small contribution to Nature Protection, I guess.

I found an old nest - I didn't know it was there - in a tree when we were Spring Cleaning the Garden. They were long gone by the look of the nest... I was so sorry I missed the proccess and promissed myself to keep an eye in case they return. It warms our hearts to know that other Mothers choose our corners to give birth and raise their bundles-of-joy, doesn't it?

    Be Blessed,

    Teresa

  2. Hi Wendy,

These are amazing hummingbird pictures. Do you know what the nest is made from?
I love watching the birds. I feed them daily :)

    1. Thanks Dee! The nest is soft and looks like dryer link, so I'm sure it's from a collection of soft things found in nature.

    1. Thanks Pam. If you have feeders then you get to watch them too. I do feel lucky to have this nest.

  4. You are lucky to have such annual nest under your very nose. This year we had the pleasure of "hearing"young ones grow in a closed nest next to our front door. We had pleasure in seeing the parents busy flying of and on to feed them. The nest is empty now. It's amazing to see how they build it. We don't have mockingbirds around here, so it's fun for me to see "your" nest and it's owners. Keep us posted!!
