How to make a Monster {Sewing}

Monster Madness

Everyone loves a Monster, so when my children were young I would let them and their friends make any crazy design they could think of!  I was babysitting my nieces this week and look what we found!  Next time they are over we will make more.  It is so easy.  I simply had them draw on paper any shape they wanted and then color it in.  This is great because they spend tons of time in the design stage and that keeps them busy!  Then using scraps of fabric, they cut out two of them, to be sewn together.  Next time we make them I will show pictures of each step.

Before sewing the front and back together we sewed the face on by using a simple zig-zag stitch.
Then you can add buttons or anything else to your Monster!

And because every Monster needs a stuffed monster of his own...

SO I hope this gives you ideas.  It is a simple beginning project for anyone wanted to use a sewing machine.  I've done this before with a youth group of girls and it makes for a fun party too!  Happy Monster-making my friends!  Draw one up for yourself and let me see how creative you can be.  So tell me... what was your favorite stuffed animal as a child?
