How to Recycle Ribbon {Good Idea}

Day 23 in WeNdYs WiNtEr WoNdErLaNd!!

Hey everyone!  Do you have a pile of random ribbons just laying around?  Do you even save them?  Well you should!  I have a drawer I throw these random ribbons into.  You know, the ones that come on gifts you receive throughout the year.  Maybe even ribbons that come tied up on items or bags from the store.  I save them all, even the small snippets of ribbons.  I never met a ribbon I didn't like!  I also know that it might come in handy one day.

This is what I do with them at Christmas time!  I tie them onto ornaments!

This transforms a cute but ordinary ornament into something extraordinary!

I simply tie it onto the existing ornament hook or top!

Here is an ornament before ribbon...

Here is the same ornament after ribbon!  Now you see the difference!  This small snippet of ribbon was too short to tie so I simply ran it through the opening at the top!

They don't all need to be the same color or design for one tree.  On my Gingerbread Kitchen tree I use red and green ribbons.  Other colored ones I save for other trees.

  This adds another element of depth and interest to a unique Christmas tree.

These ribbons are ready to recycle anytime the need arises throughout the year as well.  To tie a bag of cookies up or another gift.  When I buy ribbon I tend to go for the same colors and styles all of the time.  When you recycle ribbons they come from someone else {free} and you tend to get a great mix of different styles and designs too!  If you simply keep them in a designated drawer or box you will always be ready.  How will you recycle your ribbon?  If you don't want to then save them and send them off to me!!

  1. I just started recycling them last night after your previous wrapping post. I now have a shoe box containing some of the ones I newly bought and some I still had lying around. So I'm ready to start off my collection. Will need a bigger box later on I assume/hope.
