Vintage Quilt Recycled {Sewing}

What will you do with your vintage quilt scraps?  Make Betty Bunny of course!

 I have a weakness for all things quilt related, sewn, embroidered and handmade.  Maybe it's because I make things myself and know of the love and time that goes into them.  So when I come across anything vintage for sale {like quilts or embroidered tablecloths for $1} I buy them all {thinking I am saving them and giving them a loving home} without even thinking!

There are many things you can do with them and today I am sharing my Betty Bunny wall hanging with you.  Perfect for Spring!  Simply cute scraps into any shaped piece you need.  I'm showing my bunny but a flower or any simple shape would be cute too.  Something similar would be a great way to preserve your favorite baby quilt.  If you lightly tea dye your fabric, lace, and quilt, this gives it even more of a vintage feel.  This also helps the other materials match the old quilt.

Add a simple piece of lace for her collar, finishing her dress off with a flowered button is simple but cute.  I love her crocheted mini piece that I call her hat! {Oh to be this darling bunny and wear a hat such as that!}

The bunny pieces are left raw edges showing and simply sewn on.  Notice on the ears how only a single line of stitching is needed down the center.  Simple but cute.

Embroidered whiskers and simple drawn on eyes and nose finished off her face.

This project is so small it is bordered quite simply with scraps from other projects and bound with more floral scraps, to really finish it off in cute Betty Bunny style!

Oh Beautiful Betty Bunny...I think I'm in love!  What have you seen or done to use vintage quilts or linens?  I'd love to hear!
